At Open MRI/Imagimed® we specialize exclusively in magnetic resonance imaging. All of our Radiologists are fellowship trained, with subspecialty training in musculoskeletal imaging, neuroradiology, and abdominal and body imaging. We read MRI only. Most radiology practices and all hospital radiology practices interpret all types of imaging: x-rays, mammography, CAT scans, ultrasound, and nuclear medicine. Therefore, it is quite likely that in a hospital setting your scan may be interpreted by a radiologist without subspecialty training in interpretation of magnetic resonance images. At Open MRI/Imagimed® our radiologists all specialize in magnetic resonance imaging only. In addition, all of our physicians have subspecialty training in MR imaging. The medical directors at Open MRI/Imagimed® are radiologists and other specialty physicians. The practice is structured to provide the best service to you and your doctor; our radiologists work with treating physicians to deliver the very best care to you.

Our Open MRI machines provide images and information equivalent to or better than images produced by closed magnets or any other open magnets, and with much greater comfort. We provide standard magnetic resonance imaging, as well as advanced magnetic resonance angiography, magnetic resonance venography, magnetic resonance cholangiopancreotography, and magnetic resonance contrast studies. Open MRI/Imagimed® provides the most comfortable magnetic resonance imaging experience available today. Open architecture magnets are the ONLY facilities which can provide magnetic resonance imaging for ALL patients. This provides consistency and continuity of care for patients and their treating physicians. While patients up to a weight of 220 pounds can sometimes be accommodated in a closed magnet, closed magnets are quite uncomfortable for most patients and certainly for any patient weighing more than 180 pounds. Given the fact that open magnets are as accurate as or more accurate than closed architecture magnets, the choice is clear. With state of the art equipment, there is no reason for a patient to subject themselves to the unpleasant experience of a closed magnetic resonance imaging study when open MRI facilities are available at all Open MRI/Imagimed® sites.

FASTEST REPORTING
Once you have been scanned, your physician wants the results as soon as possible. So do you.We guarantee that all reports will be received by your treating physician within 24 hours of your study, and within one hour of the study if necessary. As well, we utilize the most advanced teleradiology system available today, MedWeb ®. The MedWeb ® system allows for instantaneous posting of both the images and report on a private, password protected HIPAA compliant teleradiology network. This also allows your physician and our radiologist to discuss any image done anywhere in the United States. Further, both the radiologist and your treating physician have access to your scans and reports 24/7. This allows us to assure your physician that he or she will discuss the report only with a subspecialty trained MRI specialist.
